Diane Keaton never tried to be cool—she just was. Effortlessly. While the rest of Hollywood was chasing youth like it was on clearance at Bloomie’s, Diane showed us that aging could be stylish, funny, and fabulous.

Here’s why she’ll forever be the patron saint of women who’ve lived a little and still plan to live a lot more:

1. She aged like a real person.

If she ever had work done, it was the good kind—the kind you can’t tell. She kept her laugh lines, her quirks, and her face that actually moved. Bless her for that.

2. That signature style.

The hats! The ties! The gloves! Those signature glasses! She made menswear look sexy before anyone called it that. And she never once caved to a trend. She made herself the trend.

3. She dated legends—but stayed a lady.

Warren Beatty, Al Pacino, Woody Allen… she could’ve written a memoir entitled “Hollywood Exes: The Untold Stories” and retired rich, but nope. She never dished and she kept it classy. No mudslinging, no drama—just quiet dignity and a killer wardrobe.

4. She became a mom on her own timeline.

She adopted her two kids in her 50s. I was nearly 42 when I became a mom, so I get it. She proved that motherhood doesn’t come with an expiration date—it comes when it’s right. I resonated with her movie “Baby Boom” because at 41, I was immersed in the corporate life when Motherhood came calling and changed my life forever.

5. She never went frumpy.

Even at 79, she looked chic, funny, and just a little bit unpredictable—like that friend who shows up to brunch in pearls and sneakers and somehow makes it work.

Diane didn’t just age gracefully—she aged authentically. And in a world that keeps telling women to disappear after 50, she reminded us to do the exact opposite. And we’re forever grateful. ###
